Devon Dick – Jamaica Baptist Union President preaching April 2nd 10.30am
The Revd Dr Devon Dick, president of the Jamaica Baptist Union , will visit three Yorkshire Baptist Association churches as part of his UK tour next month.
On Sunday, April 2nd, he will be preaching at Cemetery Road Baptist Church, Sheffield. The service starts at 10.30am.
On the same day, at 6pm, he will be at Cottingham Road Baptist Church, Hull, taking part in “A Forum For Justice” with Ruth Dearnley, of Stop The Traffik, and Mark Hutchinson, of Journey To Justice.
The flyer reads: “Finding inspiration to continue the landmark work of Martin Luther, William Wilberforce* and Martin Luther King in the 21st Century.”
(* Wilberforce, the anti-slavery campaigner, politician and philanthropist, was born in Kingston upon Hull in 1759.)

On Monday April 3rd, the Revd Dr Devon Dick will be at Wakefield Baptist Church from 11am to 1pm, for an informal discussion entitled “Apology and Action – Justice Today” and light lunch with ministers and church leaders.
Then on Saturday, April 8th, he will take part in a symposium “Justification and Justice” at Spurgeon’s College, London, which will explore The Protestant Reformation and the Civil Rights movement and their figureheads, Martin Luther, and Martin Luther King, alongside the BUGB Apology – made 10 years ago for the trans-Atlantic slave trade and its terrible legacy.
